Theft

Theft is the unauthorized removal or misappropriation (i.e. unauthorized storage, transfer or use) of employee, ServiceMaster, or customer property. Such property may include, but is not limited to:

  • Product;
  • Personal possessions;
  • Software;
  • Waste material;
  • Equipment; and
  • Trade secrets.

 

Under no circumstances is any ServiceMaster employee to remove any property from our customer’s premises. ServiceMaster employees are not allowed to use the customer’s stationery, telephone, fax machine, photocopier, etc. 

 

Our customers have placed their trust in our Company and employees and we must uphold their trust. Theft of ServiceMaster property or the property of our customers will not be tolerated and may result in termination. 

 

In the event of a theft incident, ServiceMaster will obtain all necessary facts before taking any action. Pending a full investigation where there are reasonable grounds for suspecting a breach of this policy, an employee may be suspended with pay. ServiceMaster reserves the right to search any of the following:

  • Lockers and/or supply rooms;
  • Workspace; and
  • Bags.

 

ServiceMaster reserves the right to involve the police in the event of a theft incident.
